Snorkeling in Split for families and beginners

Snorkeling in Split is a simple way to experience the Adriatic without needing a diving licence or previous training. The clear water along the coast near Omiš makes it easy to look for fish, rocks and small reefs from the surface. Our trips suit couples, families, children who are comfortable in the water and anyone who wants a relaxed half day outdoors. You can join a boat trip as a snorkeler or rent a complete mask, snorkel and fins set for your own beach day.

What to expect on a snorkeling trip

We meet in Omiš in the morning, prepare your equipment and choose a suitable bay or coastal site. Your guide explains how to use the mask, snorkel and fins comfortably, and points out the easiest way to enter and exit the water. The experience is unhurried: you can spend time floating, swimming close to the shoreline or relaxing on the boat between swims. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult and able to swim confidently.

Equipment, safety and comfort

Our snorkeling set includes a mask, snorkel and fins. Bring swimwear, a towel, drinking water and sun protection; a rash guard can be useful on sunny days. Conditions and visibility vary, so the location is selected with safety and comfort in mind. If you have never snorkelled before, let us know and we will give you a few practical tips before you go into the water.

Combine snorkeling with your holiday near Split

Snorkeling is ideal when members of a group have different interests. Divers can take part in a dive trip while friends or family enjoy the same day on the water as snorkellers, subject to availability. If the underwater world leaves you curious to go deeper, our Try Scuba Diving experience is the next guided step for complete beginners. Book ahead during summer so we can plan the right equipment and space for your group.

Plan your snorkeling day

A half-day trip usually starts at 9:00, leaving plenty of time for the beach or another activity later in the day. Tell us how many people are in your group, the ages of any children and whether you would like to join a boat trip or rent equipment. We will confirm the meeting details and help you prepare for a comfortable day on the water. Availability is limited on busy summer dates, so an early inquiry is helpful.

Snorkeling is relaxed, but every water activity still depends on the weather and sea state. We make the final site choice on the day to give you the best possible conditions. Our aim is a calm, enjoyable experience that lets you take in the coast at your own pace.

Ask us if you need advice on transport from Split, equipment sizing or the best option for a mixed group of swimmers and divers.

We are happy to answer questions before your visit and make the practical arrangements simple for everyone in your party.
